Description Of Project
Bar and wine room
This beautiful Tuscan bar and wine room was created to function as a main portion of the large addition the homeowners planned for the rear of the home. The space had to serve and work well with the family room, as well as the outdoor kitchen entertaining area. The major design challenge was to implement all of the storage and function needs, without overpowering the family room. In order to accomplish this, the designer created a beautiful arched entry out of cherry woodwork implementing decorative columns and posts to coordinate with the new ceiling beams. To keep the bar feel, decorative mullions and glass doors showcase the owner’s crystal collection, with integrated lighting and glass shelving to allow the light to filter through. A favorite piece of art was captured as the centerpiece at the rear wall, beautifully displayed between the new columns. The bars “pony walls” included shelving from the bar interior for storage of liquor, shakers, and other bar goodies.
The connecting wine room integrated a barreled ceiling with a brick veneer application, as well as a custom redwood racking system for storage of all types of wine. In order to keep the room properly climatized, a chiller unit was installed within the wood work, and a special moisture barrier and sealed gasket entry door was installed. The door was custom made, and finished to match the bar cabinetry. The look was completed with the integration of a custom wrought iron insert design, and clear glass to show off the completed room interior.
